The Best Version of The Glock

    By admin | June 11, 2009

    Glock and Magazine

People often ask what version of the Glock is the best - which version would you own if you could buy any Glock.  And though the answer sounds like no answer at all it's the best anyone can do.

While I have a Glock 23 - a 40 caliber compact and it serves my needs well, it may not be the best for you. I can't call this particular gun the best because there may be others which will serve you better.

One of the great things about a Glock is that they are highly customizable, with lots of aftermarket parts and accessories.  For instance I purchased a conversion barrel for mine so I can shoot 9mm ammo at the range because .40 ammo is more expensive.

But the Glock 23 is compact and works well for conceal carry.  And though I have large hands, I prefer something smaller because I feel like I have better control.

But other glocks might suit other people better.   Some people prefer larger caliber bullets such as .45 and others think recoil is an issue and prefer 9mm.

Glocks come in 3 sizes: sub compact, compact and full size.  All with their own specific advantages.   The smaller the gun the easier to hide but the larger the gun the more bullets you can fit into the magazine.  It all depends on your preferences. Your hand size may also play a factor in picking your weapon.

The bottom line is, Glock pretty much covers all the bases.  Find one that suits your needs best and go with it.   Most everyone will tell you the version they have is the best - mostly because the version they have fits them and their needs. But you may be different.

The Glock in general has a reputation for being a reliable gun. And for home defense it is one of the most dependable weapons on the market.  So decide what features are important to you and go try a few on for size.
